Bombay High Court’s order, Govt. and others to file reply in the GIO case

The petition filed by Secretary Jamaat -e- Islami Hind Maharashtra (JIH) and president Girls Islamic Organisation of Maharashtra (GIO) against Govt. of Maharashtra, Police Commissioner, Additional Police Commissioner Naval Bajaj, DCP Sanjay Shintre, Principal Secretary Home Ministry Govt. of India and State of Maharashtra, Director General I.B., DGP Maharashtra, trying to link GIO with terrorism and the leaking of this secret circular to the press.

The bench comprising Justice Dharamadhikari and Justice Patel has ordered the concerning authorities to submit their replies.

Lawyers for JIH Maharashtra and GIO Maharashtra were Sr. Advocate Yusuf Muchhala and Adv. Sagheer Khan and Advocate Rashida Ainapur.

n 30th March 2013 Daily Samna (Marathi) carried letter issued from Mumbai Police in which I.B. Mumbai has alerted the Mumbai Police that GIO is creating terrorist tendencies by inparting teachings from Quran & Sunnah.
JIH Maharashtra and GIO Maharashtra responded immediately against this by going to Bombay High Court by filing defamation case demanding Rs. 10 Crore from the concerned department and pleaded the court to punish the concerning authorities. It was also pleaded that the Honourable court decide who is responsible to investigate and confirm the I.B. alert issued to the department.
