Business Summit organized by JIH at Bhandup (Mumbai)

On Sunday May 1st, a business summit was organized by Jamat e Islami Hind which saw participation by 30 business of the Sonapur area. The program started with Faizan Malik sb reciting few verses from the Holy Quran. Soon after this, Malik Akbar sb (Nazim Halqa, Karkunan Bhandup) gave a brief introduction of JIH and shared that JIH along with working towards development of the society also works towards Protection and Development of the Muslim Ummah. Working in this direction and to help the new businesses is this new endeavor in the field of Entrepreneurship and this business summit is the part of that program. This is a platform where business owners can come together and strategize how they can grow further.

Janab Ata-ul-Haq sb in his address shared with the attendees how with the changing times and business processes, we need to adapt to the changing scenarios to continue to be successful in this changing marketplace. JIH has visionary plans in this space and with the same cooperation by the community we are together to achieve great heights.

This was followed by the key note address of Janab Afzal Baig sb (secretary Entrepreneurship Development cell, Maharashtra) who emphasized on the fact that first we need to clear a misconception that it is the task of materialistic people to continue thinking of earning and growing. We have created an atmosphere where a person is considered pious if he earns less, is contented with whatever he earns and just spends his time in Allah’s zikr. But this is a fallacy.

We have in front of biographies of Hazrat Usman Gani (RZA) and Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Awf (RZA). Both of them were amongst the wealthiest of the companions of the Prophet (PBUH) and they are amongst those 10 companions who have been promised Paradise. If one has the riches of this world as the goal for earning wealth and focusing on business, then indeed this is a hateful objective. But if the objective is to contribute to well-being of the society with your wealth and for the betterment of the people around you, then earning becomes worship with this intention.

One needs to have the clear vision of why one is earning and with this broader vision, he gets a bigger canvas to contribute and make a lasting change in the society. If the same vision is transferred to one’s employees, then they too will lend their support in this noble mission and think ten times before betraying for small gains. Once we have a vision for the betterment of the society, then one needs to make SMART plans in order to achieve the vision.

JIH in this respect had organized this summit to help the businesses know how to take benefit from the different government schemes running in this regard. We will share information on the schemes on Skill Development rolled out by the government.

Also many skilled people want to start a business of their own but are short of funds. JIH plans to initiate interest-free credit societies where people with funds can park their money and lend those who plan to start a new business or grow an existing business, in an interest-free setting.

Also, it is our endeavor to connect the Muslim business community together in a close-knit network so that we benefit with the collective experience of each other.

This was followed by a Question & Answer session where Janab Afzal sb answered the queries of each member.

Following this, author of multiple books and major contributor in the field of hydroelectric machinery, Janab Qamaruddin sb delivered his presidential address and congratulated on successful organization of the summit and bringing together similar minds on this platform.
