Historical Eid Milan in Kongaon: JIH Thane

Kongaon (Thane), August 16th

“O mankind! We created you a single (pair) of male and a female. And made you into nations and tribes, that you may know each other (not that you may despise each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things).”

As per Surah-Hujurat (Quran), Islam authentically declares the universal equality for mankind. We all are from one mother and father. It means by blood relations, we all are brothers and sisters. This historical fact was delivered by Janab Vaqar Ahmed Aleem. He also expressed that, no man is superior than other by birth, race or nation. The God fearing (pious) person is most respected person in Islam. He was delivering a speech as chief guest speaker at the Eid Milan program.

Jamat-e-Islami Hind Kongaon (Dist. Thane) successfully hosted an Eid Milan Get-together on Sunday evening, 16 August 2015 at Ganesh Mitra Mandal, Naikwadi, Kongaon for the first time in the history of Kongaon Grampanchayat. Local Jamat has organized Eid Milan Get-togethers in the Non-Muslim dominated area of Kongaon. The program was attended by more than 40 non-Muslim brothers along with many of the local and Ulhasnagar JIH colleagues. A single woman also actively took part in this program.

Prominent personalities who graced the event with their presence included Maulana Khursheed Ahmad, JIH Organizer Thane District; Kamlakar Naik, Ex Deputy Sarpanch, Kongaon Grampanchayat; Guest Speaker Vaqar Ahmed Aleem, Manager Shodhan Weekly, Mumbai; Journalist Shahjahan Magdum Organizer JIH Kongaon & Resident Editor, Islamic Marathi Publications Trust Mumbai; Prof. Afsar Khan, JIH Kongaon & Director Adarsh Classes, Kongaon; Harees Meer, local president JIH Ulhasnagar and others.

The Kongoan Village, a fast growing locality neighbouring of Kalyan City near about 55 Km from Mumbai, one of the historical places in India, is often referred as the War Ship making place in Thane District from Maratha King Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
The Program began with recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Maulana Khursheed Ahmed followed by Hindi Translation by him. He invoked prayers for a universal harmony and peace amongst all of mankind.

Prof. Afsar Khan conducting the program. An introductory speech in Marathi – by him, spoke about the misunderstanding about Islam through Press and Electronic Media and Social Media . He specifically mentioned the message of peace and brotherhood being spread through and its practical implementation through the efforts of Humanity First.

Chief Guest of this event Janab Vaqar Ahmed Aleem spoke on this occasion, which the attentive audience listened carefully. A speech in Marathi expounding upon the importance of Ramzan and how it trains us to develop God fear was delivered. The speech on key points related to the welfare of the society. He guided audience for social, political and spiritual co- existence.

Kamalkar Naik appreciated the Jamaat’s endeavor and thanked the Jamaat’s volunteers for sharing Eid’s happiness with the young audience in the locality. The Holy Quran Marathi translation have been gifted to Mr. Naik by Maulana Khursheed Ahmed. The work of JIH Maharashtra, Marathi Weekly Shodhan and Islamic Marathi Publications Trust was also highlighted during the program. Mr Naik in his presidential address expressed that he was truly impressed by the humanitarian work being done by the JIH. He suggested that awareness of these efforts of the Jamat should be made on a larger scale in the locality. He lauded the appreciable work done by the Jamat and thanked for organizing of this Eid Milan Get-together, which was the first-of-its-kind program in the Kongaon Village. In his speech expressed his keen desire that a program, with such noble intentions should not be limited to the confines of a hall; but should be organized on a much larger scale, so that it reaches out to more people. He added that he would be glad to offer all possible assistance in the matter. and expressed that we should bear in mind that although our paths may be different, but the ultimate goal is same one.

The program was attended by members of Ganesh Mitra Mandal. The main comment from the audience was that, Program of this nature are key to fostering brotherhood between all communities and help in better bonding.

At the end of the program Janab Shahjahan Magdum expressed sincere gratitude to all those who had encouraged and assisted in organizing this historical Eid Milan Get-together. The program ended followed by the Refreshment and Shirkhurma.
