Jamaat e Islami, Hind, the largest cadre based Muslim organization in India had organised a Human Chain on 31st August 13 from 4.30 PM to 5.30 PM at Mahatma Gandhi Road, Camp, Pune to protest against the illegal removal of Dr Mohammed Mursi, the elected President of Egypt through a coup by the Military leaders. Hundreds of people including men, women, girls, youth and children belonging to various religious communities joined the 1 km long silent Human Chain supported by thousands of passers. The participants were holding posters, placards denouncing the military leadership’s autocracy and demanded the Indian Government to press for the reinstatement of democratically elected government of President Mohammed Mursi.
