Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maharashtra’s Ideal Relief Wing (IRW) volunteers made the state proud to extend their help for flood victims in Kerala.
Under the leadership of the State Social Work Department of JIH MS Zone, Mr. Mazhar Farooque, a delegation of 11 volunteers from different parts of the state has visited Kerala to help the flood victims of the south Indian state. The group comprised of different trained people in disaster management, two physicians, MSW professionals and others. The delegation joined the group of JIH Kerala and its IRW group who has been engaged in the relief work since the natural calamity along with its 3000 volunteers who have collected within the state and vicinity to help the flood victims with great zeal and responsibility.
The delegation along with others has now started the relief work in the affected areas to bring cleanliness and hygiene in the affected people to their homes in the houses, roads, and mohalas. For those who have been present in the camps deserted from their homes and families along with feeding them with the daily food and treating the injured people. The relief camps have been set up different areas in the affected districts of Kerala, which have been catering the flood victims in every possible way. The organization has also planned to build home and provide permanent shelters to the victims of flood who have lost their homes due to the natural calamity.
In the JIH’s long term plan, the organization has plans to build permanent houses and adopt a couple of villages and other places to give them back their lost homes. Mr. Mazhar Farooque the Secretary of JIH Social Work department of JIH informed that in required, the state unit will send another delegation to Kerala to help the victims of flood in Kerala. The state wing of JIH in Kerala and its social and disaster management group – Ideal Relief Wing has been working tirelessly to help the people to come out from the natural calamity and the aftermath of the same. The aid has been reaching to the state from all parts of the country using the JIH network all across the country including UP, Bihar, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and other places. Adding relief from JIH Maharashtra Zone and the delegation from the state has certainly increased the esteem and pride of state unit.
