‘I shall strive to forge communal harmony and promote entrepreneurship in Mumbai’- avers Jamaate Islami Hind-Mumbai’s new Nazim.’

Jamaate Islami Hind (JIH), India’s premier Islamic Organization, has appointed its young and dynamic member Muhammad Abdul Qadeer as the Nazim (Organizer) of its Mumbai Metro division for the current biennial term.

A mechanical engineer by profession and working with a corporate MNC, Muhammad Abdul Qadeer has, in the past couple of years, served as Mumbai’s SIO (Students Islamic Organization) President and was until recently the President of JIH’s Mira Road branch. His innovative approach, modern outlook and strong leadership skills have made him an ideal choice to lead the Mumbai chapter of JIH. Mumbai, being the financial capital, is the beating heart of India that boasts of a rich cosmopolitan culture and a strong, intellectual Muslim representation. It is expected that JIH would be able to achieve new strides here under his able leadership towards the realization of JIH’s primary goal- the establishment of a just and God-conscious society. His determination and clear vision were reflected in his reply when asked about his immediate plans after taking charge as JIH Mumbai’s Nazim. He remarked, “JIH caters to all countrymen irrespective of their religion, race or class. Under the flagship ‘Sadbhavna Manch’ program of Jamaate Islami Hind, I shall strive to forge communal harmony in Mumbai, promote entrepreneurship for holistic economic development and ensure the penetration of the Jamaat’s tolerant and progressive ideology among the masses.”

It should be noted here that Jamaate Islami Hind has been active, since its inception in 1948, in almost all socio-religious spheres like Social Service, Spread of Islamic teachings amongst both Muslims and non-Muslims, Community and National Affairs, Relief Work, Education and Health services etc. and the post of Mumbai Metro Nazim assumes significant importance in this regard with far reaching influence on the functioning of Government and Non-Government Organizations.
