Mumbai Metro’s tarbiyati ijtema was organised this Sunday which was attended by 150 men and ladies from all over the city. This was one of those 2 gatherings in the year which were not zonal, but on a Metro level.

The program began with Dars Quran by Nazir Shaikh sahab on Surah Naas, where he expounded upon the whisperings of Satan and the importance of coming into the fold of Allah. Abdul Haseeb Bhatkar sb then elucidated on the need of Going back to the Quran, emphasizing that the Ummah’s current state is due to neglecting the Qur’an and not understanding it’s true call. Examples from the life of Sahaba were shared to guide the audience.

Four short lectures followed this in the domain of Academic and Skill Development. One of the speakers highlighted the rigor for becoming an expert – investing 10,000 hours over 7 years, that is 4 hours daily before one can command respect in his field. Development is a continuous process which the members were asked to pursue in their fields of choice.

Ponzi schemes and their nature, what fuels them and what attracts the populace towards them – Greed and Quick money. These points were made by experts in the domain of Finance – Dr. Rehmatullah sb and Prof. Irfan Shahid.

A technical lecture on Hadees, it’s classification, some common terms which everyone should be aware of, and the difference between Sunnah and Hadees were explained very lucidly by Janab Rashid Khan sb.

The ijtema concluded after a healthy open discussion led by Janab Zafar Ansari sb revolving around the idea of how we can make our programs successful. Various ideas came to the fore which were discussed in detail and brainstormed upon.

The Ijtema drew to a close just before Asr prayers. May Allah help all the attendees to gather strength with such programs and assist them in their cause.
