Mr. Rizwanur Rahman Khan, the newly appointed Ameer e Halqa of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maharashtra was born on the 19th of September 1969 in Maharashtra’s second capital. He completed his schooling from Achhalpur, a village in Amravati. His late father, Maulana Habibur Rehman Khan, was the fifth Ameer Halqa of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maharashtra.  Some of their relatives have served the Jamaat till their last breath and some are still at it.

His family is known for passionate sacrifices for Islamic Movement. His father Maulana Habibur Rahman Khan Sahib offered Rizwan Sahib for the service of the Islamic movement when Mr Rizwan was just 17 years old.  In 1988-91, when Mr. Syed Aziz Mohiuddin was the State President of SIO, Rizwan Sahib was the President of SIO’s Mumbai Division and Zonal Office Secretary.  Thereafter, the journey of sacrifice for the movement has never been lost pace and continues till today. In 1991-93, he became SIO Zonal Secretary and Zonal President in 1993-95.  He was appointed the All India Secretary of the Organization in 1995-97.  All this time he has remained a full time worker of the organization. During the 2011-15 term, he was Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maharashtra’s deputy Ameer. In the past, he took the responsibility of being the Secretary of the Dept of Islamic society. During this years, Rizwan Rahman passed through tremendous trials.  During the state presidency of the SIO, his eye got affected with cancer. Post surgery, he has been working with one eye over the last 25 years and the second eye is a prosthetic one. He has also gone through a bypaas surgery due to coronary heart disease. But he kept discharging his obligations.  The only thing that kept him from pursuing his financial career was his relentlessly commitment to the Jamaat.  In these trying times, his wife and most obedient children stood by him. His eldest son, Faizan ur Rehman Khan, is currently a ZAC member of SIO Maharashtra North Zone.

Rizwan Sahib is a reflection of his compassionate father, Maulana Habibur Rehman. May Allah bless Maulana; he has left behind his a great legacy.  Everyone knows that Maulana Habib-ur-Rehman had a keen interest in the Qur’an. Rizwan urRahman Khan sahab has inherited this interest and faith in the Qur’an from his father.
Allah the Almighty give steadfastness to our new leader. May Allah help him in every aspect of his life. And may Allah give great rewards to his family. May the caravan of the Islamic movement, in his leadership, get closer in achieving its goals and reaching its destination.  Ameen
