Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) and Medical Service Society of India (MSS) jointly organised a program this morning for the residents of Anjani Paradise and Anjani Presidency on Parenting Guidance and Drug Abuse.
Dr. Parvez Mandviwala, President of MSS Maharashtra shared tips on Parenting in today’s nuclear family set-up. He urged the parents to play an active part in their children’s upbringing and discussed the challenges and solutions for the same.
Dr. Danish Shakeb, renowned Clinical Psychiatrist of Mira Road, elaborated upon the drug menace among the youth and the steps that should be taken to prevent and treat this plague. Along with substance abuse, he also touched upon addiction to Social Media and the inglorious selfie culture ????
The lectures were followed by an interactive Q&A session in which the 110-strong audience had their doubts addressed by the speakers.
The best part about the program was that members of the society resolved to take collective steps in imparting value based education to their kids in collaboration with religious organisations like GIO. We pray that this becomes an ideal society, the social experiment of which would be emulated by all other societies in Mira Road.
