As per the plans of JIH Mumbai Stepup2020, around 4-6 slums will be adopted and based on the need of the slum, welfare charitable centres will be opened.
First of its kind initiative has been taken up recently at Andheri West (Dongar). The place has been finalised and within a month following modules will be operated InshaAllah.
Donger Basti Adoption:
1. Talim baleghan (Education of the illiterate adults)
2. 10th coaching class
3. Kapda bank
4. Ration for at least 30 widows
5. Library
6. Book bank
7. Tailoring sets /embroidery /mahendi
8. Urdu classes (for girls)
9. Ladies employment through this centre
10. Computer classes
11. Reading hall for poor students
This centre will also serve as a model for future centres. In the recent past, a delegation of Social Services department had visited Hyderabad to witness such projects running successfully for many years under JIH Hyderabad.
