“Jamaate Islami Hind North West organised interfaith  Dialogue on poverty and it’s solution in different religions
Asst Prof, Ayyub Khan, in his presidential speech, highlighted the significance of Charity in Islam that helps to alleviate poverty from the society. He cited the verse from the Holy Quran in which the Almighty commands to his followers to donate 2.5 percent of their rightful earnings to the needy, destitute, poor, orphans and widows. Jamaat-E-Islami Hind, Nagpur, North West organised Inter-Faith Dialogue on Poverty – Problem and Solution in Different Religions, in collaboration with Gurudev Seva Mandala, at GurudevBhavan, Zingabai Takli, Nagpur.
 The representatives of different religions were prominently present in this programme.They
expressed their views on Poverty and its solution in their respective religion. Mr J. Oberio, Chartered Accountant, presented the solution of poverty from Sikhism perspective as Sikhs run  Langar in Gurudvara for the poor to provide them food irrespective of religion, Mrs Nanda Bhagat stressed that Buddhism advocated compassionate giving to the poor and the sick as a  virtue in its own right. Miss Cenci Maryam Thomas outlined that poverty was the part of life in order to test the God-fearing soul how he helped the poor to make their life better. Nathuji Thate expressed the preaching of Rashtasant Tukadoji Maharaj to get rid of the problem of poverty through
proper saving and distribution of the wealth among the poor and the needy.Rajendra Khatwal proposed the solution of poverty through the verses of Vedas in which he emphasized that instead of cursing their condition they should work hard to erase poverty.

The programme began with the recitation of Holy Quran by Advocate Abdul Rashid, followed by a brief account of Jamaat –E-Islami Hind and its work in the society by Iftikhar Ahmad. The presidential address was made by Prof Ayyub Khan, Aameer JIH Nagpur Northwest who highlighted that a Muslim can never be a Muslim if he eats food heart contentedly and his neighbour goes without food due to poverty regardless of religion. He also cited the figure that the ratio of suicide in Muslims was less due to the grace of charity.He summed up his speech giving innumerable solutions to the problems of poverty in the light of Quran and Hadith. The programme was compared by Aasim Parveez and a vote of thanks was proposed by Abdul Shamim . After the programme, Sadhbhavana Manch (Communal Harmony Group) was formed comprising the members of different religions under the guidance of Ayyub Khan in the presence of P.Itankar, Tanveer Mirza and Advocate Abdul Rafique.
