Jamaat grieved at flood devastations in Uttarakhand

New Delhi: Expressing grief at the extraordinary loss of human lives and properties due to floods and rains in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Nursrat Ali has drawn the attention of state and central governments to probe the human errors, indifference and shortcomings in the planning to ensure the safety of the citizens.
In a press statement, JIH General Secretary also sought attention of the governments to relief for the victims and their rehabilitation at safer places. He also stressed on the need to find out how tsunami in rivers and devastating floods can be controlled. He said it is the duty of the government to protect life and property of the people; so it should see that for need or as belief people do not construct buildings at the banks of rivers or in rivers themselves risking their own lives.
Jamaat leader Nusrat Ali expressed deep sympathy with the families of the deceased people.
