The spread of indecency and nudity in our society cannot be overemphasized. To understand how this problem can be effectively tackled, JIH Mira Road organized a lecture on the above topic.
First, the Islamic guidelines on decency were conveyed by the recitation of a passage from Surah anNoor (ayaat 30-33)
Thereupon, Mazhar sahab spoke extensively on the causes and dawati aspect of promiscuity and perversion of nature. He explained that women have been deceived by industrialisation into competing with men instead of complementing them. Women need to be reintroduced to their innate nature of modesty. Their role in society should be explained to them in an appealing manner.
Similarly, doubts raised by non-Muslim brethren about the alleged gender prejudices preached in Islam should also be answered with knowledge and wisdom.
He then briefly enumerated the repercussions of immodesty and encouraged the audience to come up with tangible solutions. Upon collation, he concluded that only a morally sound and just society can deliver us from this grotesque and shameful environment and it is our responsibility as Muslims to strive towards the realization of such a value based society.
The program concluded with a dua by Maulana Ammar.
