We all belong to a Single Family: Dharmik Jan Morcha – Maharashtra

Jamaat-e-Islami Hind- Maharashtra (JIH-MS) invited several religious leaders at the Mahatma Gandhi Hall today to launch the ‘Dharmik Jan Morcha’ which is aimed at strengthening the bonds of unity and cooperation among all religious domains so that all our countrymen are free to practice their respective faiths unhindered. The program began by a Hindi poem recited by Mr. Baqar Ali followed by a lecture by Mr. Aziz Mohiuddin who sought to introduce the purpose of the meet.

Jain leader, Rajkumarji Chelot urged all religious communities to live in harmony with each other. Buddhist Acharya, Raju Gopinath invited everyone to unite on a single platform for the development of the nation. Poonam Rane stressed on the importance of social service, while Father Aniston D Pereira asserted upon the need to participate in the functions of all faiths. Dr. Rafiq Panesar quoted from the Qur’an and the Prophet Muhammad and concluded that all religions ought to be respected. Lingayat Community’s Shiv Yogi Baseshwar from Osmanabad suggested some tangible steps to forge unity among various faiths. Gyani Amarjeet Singh from the Sikh community averred that all religions preach unity and we should practice the same. Chief Guest from Delhi, Maulana Rafeeq Qasmi (all India convenor of Dharmik Jan Morcha) shared his experiences of the Dharmik Jan Mocha at Centre since 1999 the inception and other state launch experiences . He avowed this forum as the need of the hour.

President of JIH-MS, Mr. Taufeeq Aslam Khan, said in his presidential address that we have a common lineage and that we are all brethren. “Religion never preaches that we fight amongst ourselves. Let us all come together and promise to stay united and fight the anti-social forces.” said he. Everyone present there raised their hands in approval of this solemn oath. The program concluded with a vote of thanks extended by the convener of the program, Mr. Aziz Mohiuddin.
