On the occasion of World Book Day (April 23rd), Mumbai Metro along with various maqams organized book stalls in order to share the message from the Greatest Book – the Holy Quran. The main focus of the bookstalls was to distribute free translations of the Holy Quran along with a folder specially designed for this occasion. The recipients spoke with our Daees who patiently listened to their doubts about Islam and its message and good discussions ensued. Holy Quran copies were available in Hindi, English, Marathi and Gujarati.

The activity was kicked off by the Dawah core committee members themselves by putting a stall at Juhu beach soon after Fajr. Along with the masses, few celebrities also stopped over at the stall and took keen interest in the offerings. Few even expressed interest to know more about Islam and asked to book appointments with our members at their offices.

Similar bookstalls were organized at Kurla, Mira Road, Andheri, Malad, Vikhroli Tagore Nagar, Sakinaka, Dongar, Madanpura, Santacruz and Millat Nagar.

Train stations, Joggers Parks, Schools, Shopping Centers, areas around popular Malls, Hospitals, BMC libraries, Police Officials, Bus Stops and Bus Depots were targeted by teams.

The response received was phenomenal. Reach figures speak for themselves: 4,600 non-Muslims, 3,215 Muslims and VIPs 28. A total of 6,000 folders were distributed along with 202 copies of the Holy Quran and 464 books on various topics.

The warm reception received by this initiative from the local residents is proof enough that the countrymen are eager to know more about Islam and its teachings, and therefore, Dawah work holds paramount importance in such a scenario. May Allah accept efforts put in to spread this message.
